Mindfulness and Instagram

[segue versione italiana]

The other week I told you about how happy I become when someone comments on my pictures, on how calming and soothing they can be. I try to live a life with intention and mindfulness, and I also live a life where I can become very anxious and have anxiety attacks. This isn’t a very great situation, but I’m working on that every single day and one of the things that can help is a mindful life.
These are the first things that come to my mind and that are helping me every single day.

Reading
One of the things that can help me living better is reading. I think it is almost like breathing or drinking water, for me: words and written pages are essential to me, without reading my body will collapse. So I find time to do it. During the weekend I have more free time, but I also try to find time during the week days. Sometimes I wake up early and I read a few pages (even 5 pages are already helping). Other times I go to bed early and I read there.

Writing
This one is not important as reading, but it helps me to be more focused. If I write down things I need to do, plans for the week, work ideas and random thoughts, everything becomes clearer for me and I can see what the most important things for me is and what is less relevant and I can do later or even never.

Letting go of Instagram
This one is something that was killing me and a long one, so stay with me.
Since last year when everything changed in the Instagram algorithm, I can’t understand this social media anymore and I’ve tried, I can assure you. Most of the time I become angry and I don’t enjoy it.
I love looking at pictures, I still use and love Tumblr and Pinterest, two very visual platforms for me.
I love how inspiring Instagram can be, but if I have to spend every free minute of my time being frustrated and with no results in the end, I just can’t do it anymore.

So I took some steps back to enjoy this platform again, to create with passion and to be able to reflect even more my life as an artist, a creator and a slow life believer (#calmfluencer is becoming a “thing” now, but I will talk more about this another time).
