Lulù Collar – Knitting Pattern

Lulù Collar is an accessory designed to give an extra touch to a simple outfit or to make a particular garment stand out even more. You can combine it with sweaters, shirts, t-shirts, and dresses. You can wear it with the button on the front of the neck, in the most “traditional” way, or you can wear it with the button on the back so that it becomes more like a necklace. Blocking is very important for this pattern so be sure to hand wash the collar in cold water and to block properly or the edges could look a bit wonky.

 Measurements: (all measurements are after blocking)
Neck circumference: about 50 cm / 19.6 inches
Width: 12 cm /4.7 inches

Materials:
↟  circular needles 3 mm / US 2.5 / UK 11
↟  40 g of Ulysse De Rerum Natura (sport yarn, 12 wpi, 50 g, approx 185m / 202 yds)
In alternative you can use 30 g of Babyull Lanett (superwash merino wool, 50 g, 175 m). The only difference will be a width of 11 cm /4.3 inches instead of 12 cm /4.7 inches
↟ 3.00 mm / US D3/ UK 11 crochet hook to make the chain (or you can use knitting needles or the method you prefer to make a chain)

Notions:
↟  1 botton (I’ve used a button with a diameter of 1.5 cm (0.6 inches)
↟  needle
↟ 2 stitch markers
↟ blocking equipment

Gauge: 10 x 10 cm, 4 x 4 inches
↟  With needles 3 mm / US 2.5 / UK 11 in stockinette 24 st x 38 rows

↟  increase with m1r
↟ Yarn over
↟ Popcorn stitch
↟ Picot bind off
↟ I cord edge
↟ Slip stitch with yarn in front
