Little signs of Christmas

[per la versione in italiano vai giù]

As for the past years, we don’t have a Christmas tree. I’m not against them, I like them, I love fairy lights (well, I use them all year around); I also like ornaments. But I always find myself in a loop: I want a Christmas tree, I think about the choice I have: fake or real. I would love a real one, but they never last in my home or on my balcony. Then a fake one, but then I think about the materials the have been made of and in the end I don’t have a Christmas tree. But I like to put signs of this time of the year around the house. I like to make little garlands made of herbs; this year I used a branch from a plant that didn’t survive the year and I wrap around it a couple of ivy’s branches I found on the ground one day and, of course, I added some copper little lights.

I think that the only Christmas tree I would really love would be a wooden one, maybe made with driftwood pieces.
