Made to Order Knitwear: why and how to
My work is inspired by my love for the minimal style with rustic details.
I enjoy muted colours with hints of Autumnal ones.
I create long lasting knitwear pieces and accessories for a minimal and sustainable home.
This is how I describe my work in knitting and the products you find in my shop. One characteristic that is missing, but is both important and long to explain, is the made to order part.
What does “made to order” mean?
It means that I make the product you order only after you have purchased it.
Why?
Because doing so means that you can choose the colour or fibre you prefer, as well as the exact measurements you need (both for knitwear and for home accessories).
This also means that I don’t over produce and that the waste I create is reduced.
This summer I’ve decided that I want to keep in my shop only the products made with sustainable materials, and I want to be more transparent about which ones these will we be: that’s why you will start to see the name of the yarns I’m using and a link to their pages.
Why are some of the products in my shop right now ready to go?
There can be two reasons:

I’ve already made them and I don’t want them to go to waste (it would be absurd, an utter nonsense)

Sometimes I make an item, maybe while making a pattern or just because I had an idea and wanted to realise it, but I don’t want to keep that item in my wardrobe.
Especially for sweaters, I want to be able to make products for all the sizes, but we all have different measurements, so, if I can knit something that will fit you perfectly and that you will be happy to wear for years, I will be so happy and satisfied with my work.
I know what it means to wear something that I’m not 100% happy to wear time after time. So, for doing so, I need some measurements.
This is a little diagram of measurements I need to know to better create something that will fit you, not the standard size.
So, if you are ordering something from me, you can use this diagram to let me know what measurements you want. If the design will require more informations, I will send you an email with the other informations I will need.

Realizzo maglie e accessori di lunga durata per una casa e un guardaroba minimale e sostenibile.
Ecco come descrivo il mio lavoro a maglia e i prodotti che trovi nel mio negozio. Una caratteristica che manca, ma è allo stesso tempo importante e lunga da spiegare è la parte su ordinazione.
Cosa significa fatto su ordinazione?
Significa che realizzo il prodotto che ordini solo dopo averlo acquistato.
Perché?
Perché farlo significa che puoi scegliere il colore (o la fibra) che preferisci e le misure esatte di cui hai bisogno (sia per la maglia che per gli accessori per la casa). Questo significa anche che non produco in eccesso e che i rifiuti che creo sono ridotti.
Quest’estate ho deciso che voglio mantenere nel mio negozio solo i prodotti realizzati con materiali sostenibili e voglio essere più trasparente su quali scelgo, ecco perché inizierai a vedere il nome dei filati che sto usando e un link alle loro pagine.
Perché alcuni dei prodotti nel mio negozio in questo momento sono pronti per l’uso?
I motivi possono essere due:

Li ho già fatti e non voglio che vadano sprecati (sarebbe assurdo e senza senso)

A volte realizzo un oggetto, magari per uno schema o semplicemente perché avevo un’idea e volevo realizzarla, ma non voglio tenerlo nel mio guardaroba.
Soprattutto per i maglioni, voglio essere in grado di realizzare prodotti per tutte le taglie, ma tutti abbiamo misure diverse, quindi, se posso lavorare a maglia qualcosa che ti si adatta perfettamente e che sarai felice di indossare per anni, io sarò davvero felice e soddisfatta del mio lavoro. So cosa significa indossare qualcosa di cui non sei felice al 100% di indossare. Quindi, per farlo, ho bisogno di alcune misure.
Qui sopra trovi un piccolo diagramma di misure che devo sapere per creare al meglio qualcosa che si adatta a te.
Quindi, se stai ordinando qualcosa da me, puoi usare questo diagramma per farmi sapere quali misure vuoi. Se il design richiederà ulteriori informazioni, ti invierò un’email con le altre informazioni di cui avrò bisogno.
